≪Apr. 28, 2010 (JST) Update Details≫
*Japan Standard Time

Old areas available on the disc since Day One of purchase that were locked away because we wanted to milk this thing are now available in past Vana'diel.

New missions have been added for the Wings of the Goddess expansion.
*An issue where any plot consistency and believable character development have vanished remains unresolved.
*An issue where players have enc
ountered the Shadow Lord, Tavnazia [S], or anything else one would've actually expected from the Crystal War remains unresolved.

Several new quests have been added.
*All these quests will, in the future, be required to complete any new missions from any expansion. They will not be labled or hinted at having any such significance.

The following changes have been made to fellows:
  • Adventuring fellows may now only be called in regions under your home nation's control.
  • The EXP needed for fellows to level has been vaguely increased.
  • The time fellows are allowed adventuring has been sharply decreased.
  • It is now only possible to change your fellow's equipment by trading in the following items.*
Ridill / Byakko's Haidate / Joyeuse / Kraken Club / Morrigan's Robe / Usukane Haramaki / Marduck's Jubbah / Skadi's Cuirir / Novio Earring / Defending Ring

*Trading in these items will not change your fellow's equipment to mimic the item, only allow you to advance/backtrack through the gear or weapon path your fellow is already on.

The following additions have been made to Moblin Maze Mongers:
  • A new Maze Voucher nobody will use has been added.
  • Maze Voucher 09: Assist in grinding Moblin Marbles for no remotely adequate reward.
New Super Kupowers have been added to the Mog Tablet event.
  • Annoyed Fanbase: Will temporarily enhance players with bonuses and boosts that should have become permanent features years ago to make the game in any way pleasant.
  • Augment Frontier: Will randomly take one of your equipment pieces and add one or more of the exciting augments onto it when you defeat a foe in the affected region.
The attributes for the following items have been adjusted:
Ridill / Byakko's Haidate / Joyeuse / Apocalypse / Aegis / Kraken Club / Morrigan's Robe / Usukane Haramaki / Marduck's Jubbah / Skadi's Cuirie / Novio Earring / Defending Ring / Black Belt / Speed Belt / Velocious Belt / Valor Surcoat / Duelist's Chapeau / Assassin's Armlets / Igqira Wesket / Genie Weskit / Homam Cosciales

The following additions have been made to Campaign.
  • Beaucedine Glacier [S] and Xarcabard [S] will now only be capable of starting Fortification Bashing offensive Campaign Battles.
  • Several mostly pointless macro-only pieces of equipment have been added for the low price of 563,000 Allied Notes.
  • The calculations for obtaining EXP/Allied Notes after a Campaign Battle have been greatly adjusted to ensure future grinding.
  • Campaign general and unit NPCs will now only spawn in Campaign Battles that have significantly high enough people to deal with the Beastmen wave themselves already.
The resistance to following Notorious Monsters to the spells and abilities "Sleep," "Stun," "Provoke," "Blood Weapon," "Souleater," "Flash," "Gravity," "Bind," and Tier-III and IV Black Magic spells has been adjusted:
Behemoth / King Behemoth / Kaiser Behemoth / Proto-Omega / Proto-Ultima / Fafnir / Nidhogg / Tiamat / Cerberus / Khimaira / Vrtra / Pandemonium Warden / Absolute Virtue

The level of monsters in the following areas has been sharply increased:
North Gustaberg / South Gustaberg / East Ronfaure / West Ronfaure / East Sarutabaruta / West Sarutabaruta / Palborough Mines / Giddeus / Ghelsba Outpost / Fort Ghelsba / Yughott Grotto / King Ranperre's Tomb / Konschtat Highlands / La Theine Plateau / Tahrongi Canyon

The new "Skillburst" system has been added.

  • What are Skillbursts?
Due to the request of players wanting to do anything remotely requiring actual thinking in parties when it came to the long-thought mythical Skillchain and Magic Burst, the Skillburst system has been added in to both increase the damage dealt with Skillchains and Magic Bursts, and the Experience recieved after battle for actually using your brain.

  • How do I start a Skillburst?
New NPCs have been added to the following zones to allow players to switch over to this new and exciting system. Depending on the NPC you speak to the requirements to complete the quest may change:

  • Al'Taieu: Ix'Aern (DRG) / Ix'Aern (MNK) / Jailer of Temperance / Jailor of Love
  • Ru'Aun Gardens: Despot / Ullikummi* / Byakko / Kirin
  • Aht Urhgan Whitegate: Tinnin / Sarameya / Tyger / Pandemonium Warden
*Due to these new quests, the spawning system for Ullikummi will revert back to the way it was before it was changed several updates ago.

Please be aware that the following conditions apply when activating a Skillburst:
  • Tier III and IV Black Magic spells will not trigger a Skillburst.
  • Creating a Skillburst will also increase the rate that Treasure Caskets are spawned.
  • Creating a Skillburst will also increase the rate that Vrtra will spawn on your party.
  • Creating a Skillburst will also turn all skills and spells into an area effect.

The following changes have been made to Fields of Valor:
  • Experience for complete a training regime has been doubled.
  • Players will have to wait until Japanese Midnight to start a new training regime.
Training Manuals have been added to the following areas:
Hall of the Gods / Mordion Gaol

The rate at which combat and magic skills increase at high levels has been decreased.

The following adjustments have been made to the Summoner job:
  • The job ability "Pigeon Hole" has been added.

Activating Pigeon Hole will increase healing potency from White Magic by +10% and allow access to the following spells but lock out the ability to cast summons as a result.
Stona / Barpetra / Flash / Curaga III / Cure IV

*Any Avatars currently out when Pigeon Hole is activated will be instantly desummoned.

The following adjustments have been made to the Black Mage job:
  • An issue where Black Mages could join parties after Level 55 has been resolved.
  • The effects the following mobs take from all Black Magic spells has been decreased.
Black Pudding / Ebony Pudding / Wamoura Prince / Wamoura / Marid / Qiqirn Polterer / Qiqirn Archeologist / Om'hpemde / Ul'hpemde

The following adjustments have been made to the Puppetmaster job:
  • An issue where the automaton AI performed its job correctly has been resolved.

The following adjustments have been made to the Samurai job:
  • The enhancing effect Strength has on weapon skills has been sharply increased.
  • The TP Bonus effect from the Hagun has been sharply increased.
  • A new weapon skill has been added to the Great Katana.
Zantetsuken: Instant AoE Death and Treasure Hunter V effect to all mobs within the zone.
  • Two new job abilities, "Hayate" and "Two Hands" have been added.
Hayate: Raises evasion and grants the user the effect of Haste.
Two Hands: Allows the user to dual-wield two-handed weapons.
  • NPCs in the following areas will now sell the Hagun for 4,500 gil.
Port Bastok / Bastok Markets / Bastok Mines / Port San d'Oria / Northern San d'Oria / Southern San d'Oria / Port Windurst / Windurst Walls / Windurst Woods / Windurst Waters / Selbina / Mhaura / Ru'Lude Gardens / Upper Jeuno / Lower Jeuno / Port Jeuno / Norg / Rabao / Kazham / Aht Urhgan Whitegate / Al Zahbi / Nashmau / Bastok Markets [S] / Windurst Waters [S] / Southern San d'Oria [S]
  • Zantetsuken will also be added in as a new ability for when Samurai are under 100% TP.

Several new pieces of equipment have been added.

Several new synthesis recipes have been added.*
*All of these will require vague and hard to obtain ingredients which will then be completely ignored when players discover that the item is rubbish anyway.

The following item has been added to the list of goods purchasable from linkshell distributor NPCs.
Camping Tent.

*The Camping Tent is an equipable item for characters level 12 and above which, when used, will pitch a tent and start counting how many hours the character has been sitting in the same corner fighting any of the following monster and Beastman families:
Crab / Colibri / Beetle / Imp / Damselfly / Doomed / Mamool Ja / Goblin
*Staying in the Camping Tent for a certain number of hours might produce rewards such as the following:
Copper Ore / Tin Ore / Insect Wing / Yagudo Feather / Earth Crystal / Little Worm

New terms have been added to the auto-translate dictionary.

The text command /dance (number) whereby players can dance and annoy the everloving crap out of everyone nearby has been expanded to become nigh-incomprehensible.
Using the command "/dance #" (for example, "/dance A4∑" while it is a Full Moon on Watersday and Bastok currently controls the Zulkheim Region with San d'Oria in second place will make a movement that may come off as a surprisingly sophisticated attempt to projectile vomit your own legs through your body towards the nearest Elvaan.

*The values 1-4 implemented in a previous version update can still be used.
*Yes, we actually spent time designing this instead of fixing Summoner and Puppetmaster.

The issue where people were losing interest in this game is working as intended.

The following item's actual damage value no longer consists of doing actual damage.
Claustrum / Guttler / Bravura

The occurrence of perfectly legitmate players being banned for having and using gardening mules is working as intended.

Known Issues:
  • The requisite explanation for the following does not appear in-game.
Weapon Skills / Skillchains / Magic Bursts / Quest outlines / Mission outlines / That particular ??? in the middle of nowhere you always see and have absolutely no idea what it's for / Skill ratings on weapons for each job / Ranged Attack / Ranged Accuracy / Automaton AI processing / Adventuring fellow AI processing / Why that one level 70 guy you were in a party with last week was wearing full DRG AF / Why everyone thinks "Follow me" is grounds for running off randomly and creating the world's longest aggro train / Conquest Points calculation / When a Campaign Battle is about to begin and you're not camping that zone / Drop rates regarding every item ever / Spawning system for every NM ever / Why people insist of going to Valkurm instead of Korroloka to level / Where you're meant to level next / Why everyone thinks "Check the Wiki!" is a perfectly acceptable reason why nothing in this game is ever explained / Lack of instancing / How teleport crystals work / How to obtain teleport crystals / Why this particular quest requires you to run from San d'Oria to Yuhtunga Jungle just to harvest an item just to return to the NPC for a 3,000 gil reward
  • The seventy in-game glitches and issues that'll appear thanks to this update.
  • The issue of how above glitches even came to be is still unresolved.
  • The issue of the existence of all non-Samurai jobs is still unresolved.
